Put
up a Web site
You'll need
a computer with a modem. This will allow you to access the Internet
and any number of free services available on the Internet. Some
companies even offer free Internet access, although you most likely
will be connecting to the Internet through what is known as an ISP,
or Internet Service Provider. Most ISPs charge about $20 a month
and many will also host a Web site for free.
What
is hosting?
Some computer somewhere needs to "house" your site. That often comes
at a cost, but several sites such as www.geocities.com
or www.yahoo.com
offer free Web sites that you can build yourself. You will be limited
as to how you can make the site look and the Web address will be
given to you, which means your campaign site might end up with an
address such as http://www.members.home.com~tulsa.
IMPORTANT: Put your campaign
Web site address on ALL material. That way people know where to
go for more information.
While you're
on the hunt for freebies, be sure to also nab a free e-mail account
if you do not currently have an e-mail address. Yahoo
and Hotmail
offer free e-mail addresses.
