Named Politics Online's Hot Site of the Week
WASHINGTON,
D.C. (Oct. 12, 1999) e-Elections.com has been named Hot Site
of the Week by Politics Online for the week of Oct. 11, 1999. Politics
Online, the leading provider of fund-raising and Internet tools
for politics, publishes a weekly evaluation of political Web sites.
The Hot Site column may be viewed on Politics Online's Web site,
http://www.politicsonline.com.
e-Elections.com
provides free Web addresses for issue-oriented campaigns on the
Internet. The site offers an extensive Web address directory, which
lists "Yes on
" and "No on
" URLs
for numbers 1 to 100 and all letters of the alphabet. The key feature
is that e-Elections allows initiative and referendum campaigns across
the nation to share the same Web address at the same time.
"The Internet
is an increasingly important tool for politics and E-elections.com
has shown that they understand the value of this new media,"
said Phil Noble, president of Politics Online. "This web site
is an important and valuable resource for issue-oriented campaigning
on the Internet.
"We search
the political Web each week and e-Elections.com is an exceptional
site," said Noble. "This site does a great service for
issue-oriented campaigns. e-Elections.com promotes issue awareness
by allowing Web campaigns to share its URL directory."
Politics Online
chose this site based on four criteria: innovative use of technology,
subject relevance, rich content and political impact.
The Hot Site
designation puts this site among an exclusive group of political
Web sites. Recent winners include Politics1.com, VoxCap.com, MoveOn.org
and USADemocracy.com. Hot Site winners are showcased in a front-page
column for one week and then placed in Politics Online's Hot Site
archive, at www.politicsonline.com/hot/.
